Tovar had an amusing temper tantrum today:

I tried to stop off at Aaron Brothers on our way home from the gym. Then was not sure if I actually wanted to go in. I asked Tovar, "What do you think, Aaron Brothers or somewhere else?" Tovar said "somewhere else." Then he started throwing this huge tantrum "I don't want to go somewhere else!!!" And he also didn't want to go to Aaron brothers, didn't want to go home, and didn't want to answer the question "What do you want?" He just screamed the whole car ride home. Eventually he admitted that he was indeed hungry.

In general we've found that about 90% of Tovar's bad moods are related to hunger.

There's always an underlying logic. Like, "cranky because hungry". I encounter the same thing from adults, too (including the lack of self-knowledge of why they are cranky).

Yup. I'm generally cranky first, and on a good day, a few minutes later get something to eat. Take a nap is not usually an option, but tired definitely also plays a part in crankiness.

A great many people exhibit similar behaviour. This morning, babybot got mad when I put a shirt on him, and spent the next half-hour objecting to everything: "door opin, door cwose!" (refrigerator) He settled down in the car.

I wanted to say something funny about how maybe he's a little young for the alternate-day calorie restriction thing, but I couldn't figure out how to make it funny. ;)
