Tovar had another blood transfusion yesterday morning (which meant a second IV, placed in his foot: the one in his hand wasn't big enough). It helped a lot with the AB&Ds, he didn't have many at all yesterday :) As Patri noted to me a while back, moms make a lot of blood for babies during third trimester, so it makes sense that they need transfusions during this time.
I almost didn't go in yesterday morning because I was feeling so exhausted and generally burnt out, but decided to drag myself. I was glad to have done it once I was with the baby, because they had to pull a huge piece of tape off his uber sensitive baby skin back for the doc to look at how his surgery was healing, and I was glad to be there to offer at least a little comfort. Poor little guy has so much pain :P The doc was satisfied and said that it was healing well.
( Read more... )I think I am going to take an afternoon off some time soon... I hate the thought of Tovar expecting me and my not showing up, but realize that its important to keep myself healthy and sane to take good care of him ;) And it would be nice to actually attend to a couple of those errands that have been piling up. I also realized that I could perhaps talk Patri into going in *instead* of me for an afternoon, although I haven't actually run this by him yet ;)
