These have been a long time in coming! Thank you to everyone who attended Tovar's birthday, he enjoyed your celebrations and still talks about his birthday all the time. And also, thank you to everyone who brought gifts. Tovar now has a lot of age appropriate toys that he enjoys. Here are the pictures! I'll post a few, but I encourage those who were there to check out the whole album. Sadly I didn't get everyone, but I did get some nice shots of a few people, especially the Leonards and my parents.
We went to Miriam and Walter's wedding today. The kids were incredibly cute. Its a shame Sofia lives so far away, they were immediately best of pals :)

Okay, not really, we only give him empty bottles ;) But he does love to pretend play with big people bottles. We have a lot of footage of him attempting to chug various naughty bottles.
The book case is vertical with shelves close together, so he couldn't get very high, but he managed to hook both knees. We're going to need to move those soon ;)
I'm on a quest to get some good video of T doing his music grooving where he shakes his head and bounces to dance. I managed to capture it a few times, but not well, so I'm holding out for a good shot. In the meantime, some baby dj pirate booty ;)
This video (by daddy) is actually after Tovar calmed down a little, he *really liked* me playing the kazoo and was laughing hysterically about it for awhile ;)
p.s. My new videos should not be out of sync anymore, yay! I finally looked it up and saw that the problem was probably the audio codec I was using. After a few experiments, it turns out that "Qualcomm PureVoice" works.
Now that T's not trying to eat the camera every chance he gets, I managed to get some video of him talking. Or at least babbling. The talking is hard to capture but by editing a few clips together I was more than able to make of for quality by volume.
A lot of baby babble from Tovar @ 10 months adjusted:
;)
p.s. In answer to the questions about the big scratch on his nose, he pulled part of our makeshift fence over on top of himself a few days ago. We'd taken into account that it was light enough that the weight wouldn't hurt him if he did manage to do as he did, but we didn't take the scratchiness factor into account. Babyproofing has improved since.
Even though most of the videos I take look roughly like this, I figure it shouldn't stop me from posting one once in awhile ;)
Right before this one he'd just figured out how to open the cupboard to the pots and pans by himself, so he starts off a little slowly, like "I don't know why you called me over here but it better be good," and then he gets happy because he realizes he's actually got a shot at the camera. To extend the footage at the end I leaned back and let him crawl over me to get to the camera.
So as not to have teased him without paying off, I capped the camera and let him hold it afterward, and then gave him the lens cap for a bit. He seemed to approve ;)
He can actually crawl about twice that speed when he gets *really* excited, but that's a bit harder to stage ;)
